Ways to cut waste
- Avoid disosable products such as napkins, cutlery, plates, batteries, cameras, barbecues.
- Reuse as much as you can:bottles, bags, clothes, wrapping paper, envelopes.
- Use a shopping bag or basket and remember to take it with you.
- Complain to compnies about overpakaged products.
- Drink tap water rather than bottled water.
- Plan meals ahead so you don't buy more food than you need, which will just go bad.
- Lear how to repair your household appilances or find someone locally who can help.
- House clearance companies.
- Don't go mad with foil and cling film use plastic or metal containers for string or transporting food.
- Buy fruit and vegatables from a local box scheme- they generally use much less packaging than supermarkets.
- Send birthday and Christmascards by email
- Buy products made with recycled materials: loo paper, packaging, office paper, glassware
