Ways to cut waste

  • Avoid disosable products such as napkins, cutlery, plates, batteries, cameras, barbecues.
  • Reuse as much as you can:bottles, bags, clothes, wrapping paper, envelopes.
  • Use a shopping bag or basket and remember to take it with you.
  • Complain to compnies about overpakaged products.
  • Drink tap water rather than bottled water.
  • Plan meals ahead so you don't buy more food than you need, which will just go bad.
  • Lear how to repair your household appilances or find someone locally who can help.
  • House clearance companies.
  • Don't go mad with foil and cling film use plastic or metal containers for string or transporting food.
  • Buy fruit and vegatables from a local box scheme- they generally use much less packaging than supermarkets.
  • Send birthday and Christmascards by email
  • Buy products made with recycled materials: loo paper, packaging, office paper, glassware
